Default Hello everyone...

I am new to this forum and new to G-bodies...I am a long time drag racer...I used to race an 81 Camaro...I sold that as a roller last Saturday and bought this 79 Monte roller last Monday...

It is a big tire car with a Dana 60 and 5:13 gears...full electronics but I will be bottom bulbing off the brake the rest of this year...a new 496 is being built and we will put that in with my powerglide in 2 to 3 weeks...

The Monte ran 6.25 in the 1/8 when it had a 383 in it, see pic, so she should run fairly well...car weighed 2780 at that time which was 6 weeks ago...I am looking forward to this new experience...btw, I am a bracket racer...I race at Orlando and Palm Beach for points and various big money events around the southeast...

Well, I finally got to race my first event two weeks ago at Palm Beach...went out in the 5th round...I had not been in a race car since January...I had a lot of rust and need seat time to get used to this car...I need at least a pound more air in the slicks, need to remove the air filter next time and the converter is to tight....other than that I had a ball even though it was stupid hot with a heat index of 109*...sheesh...here is a pic of a time shot launch....

I have been sorting her out...I went 6.680 last weekend at Orlando...loosened the converter 500 rpm at launch...she is hitting better...1.42 short time...getting there...

Heading up to South Georgia Motorsports Park for two $5K to win races this coming weekend...I am still leaving of the foot for now...
