Default 9 inch in my g body

I have a 81 malibu and want to put a 9 inch ford rearend in it. Will this bolt in with no modification. Thanks everyone

Depends on the car its been setup for. Any idea? What it might have come out of?

^he's rite,a lot of company's make their housings with the "bushing ears" raised so you have to run a set of adjustable upper control arms to make the geometry
/pinion angle in the rear.they don't keep the same geometry as a gm rear end by default.there's also the drive shaft end of things,the length may need to be altered and the u-joint is going to be different by chance.i guess the answer is no it's not a bolt in

If it is a stock 9", no it will not fit especially if it came from a truck or a large car. Not only will you need to narrow it, but you will also need to relocate your OEM spring perches, shock mounts, upper trailing arm mounts and that's after you decide whether or not, you want to keep the GM or Ford Lug pattern. If you keep Ford, obviously no change. If you go with GM, now your dealing with new axles as well!

What are your plans for the car? If it is a drag car, the work will be worth the effort. If it is a street car your 4:10 in OEM diff should be fine. That and how much HP/Torque you are running.
