Default headlight switch bracket

I have a '84 Monte Carlo and am in the process of swapping in a NOS dash and will also be adding Auto Meter gauges in the doghouse area. I need a new headlight switch bracket as mine is broke, like most do...and I'm wondering if I can use the bracket from the 86-88 ones. It looks like both brackets have the same mounting points....

man those mounting points look similar but the overall size difference from one to another is something to be concerned.I'd error on the side of caution and go with which ever year face plate you're using with your doghouse as that headlight switch rod must land in the rite place and the bracket does dictate that location

Joe you can use the 86-88 bracket as long as you use an 86-88 bezel face as Chris mentioned. Measuring from the bottom of the bezel to the center of the hole for the headlight switch knob/shaft there is a 1/4" difference...which I think may be enough to give you grief.
