Default Turn signal flash speed?

Hey guys.. I need a little help figuring out how to control the flash speed of the turn signals.. The speed been has been varying past couple days.. If it helps It's a 78 but the column is newer, like mid late 80's

Samir ,if you havent done it yet, check to make sure you dont have any other bulbs out IE Brake, and running lights. Also you may need a new flasher if it hasnt been replaced.

Slow blink is normal, if the speed of the blink increases it's usually an indication of a burned out bulb, a bulb making poor contact or a loose wire. Turn on the blinker and walk around the car and look for something that doesn't look quite right. That's a good place to start.

Which bulb is out? It has to be a brake or turn light out that will make it blink faster.. At least thats the way it works on my cars. Hope it works out for you buddy..

Go to the auto parts store and get a "Heavy Duty" flasher for your Elky. Your OEM flasher is designed to flash quickly if the load on it changes such as having a turn signal lamp burned out. The heavy duty flasher will flash the same regardless of the load. Then check all of your directional lamps to see if one is out

Hey, a really low chassis/battery voltage can cause a slow flash, too. Napa has a 552 flasher thats pretty solid for voltage fluctuations or if you use LED bulbs

http://www.bugmanweb.com/gsxr/flasher.html

But get that bulb fixed and that should take care of it.
