True, but an easier way to identify an 8.5 vs 7.5 is the (2) little horns that protrude from the bottom of the center section on a 7.5 rear end. The 8.5's are flat and do not have the horns.

If its a 200 or 250 I wouldn't waste my time rebuilding it. A 2004R or THM350 would be a much wiser choice

Looks like a nice unit but at $600+ USD, its too pricey for me. You probably already know this but a properly set up 200 R4 or 700 R4 would work great and they do not require a computer to run.
