Default Anyone redo the weight in their TH350 govenor

I was all set to try it to get 3-500 rpms more. Then a buddy scared me off of it. Saying it will cause hard shifts and breaking parts. Mine already has a shift kit and it shifts hard.

I'm back thinking of going to a manual valve body like I had in my 79

What do you guys say?

In this thread..... Yeah i think I blew something in my trans this past weekend. Everytime I accelerate (normal or hard) it has a squeak or squeal. starts off kind of quiet then gets louder and tighter the faster the car goes to shift gears
