Got some parts for the turbo build. After doing some checking stock manifolds will support up to 1000HP so went with them. The turbo is a stock unit from a 8v92 Detroit it is 85mm and should be good to about 900-1000. The turbo pics are not of mine just the style turbo it is .

J've been doing alot of reading on theturboforums and I'm sold on doin a turbo kit based off the popular GT45 eBay chinese turbo. Money is the only thing holding me back but I think I can do a fuel system, turbo, WG, BOV, hot and cold side piping, and home modded Holley DP for blow thru for less than $2000. I'm only shooting for 400-450 rwhp so shouldn't be too difficult. Gonna put the turbo on my stock 305 at first to learn about tuning while I build my 350. It's gonna be a mild motor probably capable of mid-high 13s NA, with boost.....who knows but not planning to go past 10psi.

Better build that 350 quick, that 305 won't take boost over 5-6psi, more than a couple times. Been there done that.

Check out these build threads I posted, he uses the china made turbos from ebay.

Yeah, I've read the builds denmah has done. His Malibu wagon and his Fairmonts.

According to what I've read on theturboforums.com the 305 should live a watch my AFRs and stay out of detonation. I'll just be sure to stay under 5 pounds of boost. I'm not trying to squeeze every ounce of HP out of the 305 just learn about turbo and have a fun DD. No drag strips on Oahu so I won't be making WOT pulls.

when you had your 305 setup what kinda numbers did you get?
