Default Is it worth it?

You said to ask Sose so here it goes! It came out of a 1980 El Camino and not sure if it will fit with my 78. Hes asking $50 and we have been playing phone tag! May try to talk him down if I can, simply because it will be a 2 hour drive there and back. I just want to replace my old cluster which completely sucks ass. It looks like it only goes up to 85mph which still is not what I am looking for! Is there anyway I can change the faces to the SS Monte and calibrate it to go up to 115mph?

if your car can do 115 the gauge should show it.But if you're looking for a 115 cluster thats what you should buy. Im my opinion... get in touch with O.D. and see what he has..

A good speedo shop could recalibrate it for you. They just change the gearing inside. Then get a set of the new stick-on faces, or have the speedo shop do that for you when they have it apart. I know they can do that, but I have never had it done, so don't know the cost.

Click on repairs/calibrations when the link opens. These guys are really good and honest.

(if you want, they can also change the font style when they do that. I like the old 30s-40s style fonts with the arrow shaped pointers, but it's well-known that I'm weird!)

Yeah the car can do more than 115 the day I bought it my navigation said I was doing 118 mph (my speedo cable is broken) and the elkie still wanted more.. But you dont think $50 is a good deal? O.D has great stuff but the shipping would kill me! Im sure more than $50

Too bad it doesn't have the tach with the clock in it.

I used this gauge kit:

Don't know if you can find a black face kit. This took a weekend to install and came out great. I of course installed the 140 face...

Anybody have an extra speedo and tach needle? Both of mine are broken.

No, found the car in AZ. The sun jacked up everything that was plastic.

No rust though

I only went with white ones because I'm going to paint the car white. I think that guy is printing them up himself, he can probably make whatever color you want..

Don't know if this guy has MC/EC gauges... they have tons of colors, and can even print custom pictures if you send them the graffics. I like the skull ones...
