Default 78 Malibu Street Machine build!

I was using GBF but they are not very active. I hope you guys are much more active.

Sorry for the rant, so here's what I have recently purchased:

78 Chevrolet Malibu Classic
SBC 350/TH350
17" Showwheel Streeters wraped in ZR17 BFGs
2" Drop springs all four corners
Road Demon 625 CFM
Edelbrock RPM performer intake
Mild cam (not sure the size, but it lobes pretty good!)
Shift kit
B&M Quarter stick shifter
3" GM steel cowl hood
Crystal clear head lights
Full set Autometer classic gauges in a custom built dash bezel
Energy suspension body mounts
Goodmark stamped steel battery tray
Headman headers
True dual Exhausted dumped a set of 40 series Flowmasters
Full set of Percys aluminum crush gaskets (flange and collectors)

Plans:
This weekend;
Pulling engine/trans for a Full regasket
Installing the Jegs trans crossmember/trans mount
Redoing the exhaust (has a few bad spots where the previous owner couldnt weld for ****)
New motor mounts
FULL hardcore engine bay scrubdown
Steering wheel (maybe)

Future plans:
Convert to bucket seats (Power seats out of a 2001 Grand Prix 2 dr)
Relocate the shifter into a custom fiberglassed center console/dash
Find a set of rear seats to graft in
passenger side floor pan
larger front and rear sway bars
rear disc/posi conversion or swap
cut and tuck front and rear bumpers
Front and rear spoilers (Pro touring feel function)

Let me know what you guys think!

mylilboo,

Welcome to GBC! I'm on a number of sites and they all seem to have slow times. IMHO, we have people that are like you with their rides ( Donkzilla & monte ss496 to name a couple). Your Bu sounds cool!

Welcome to GBC . Nice boo you got. I'm not a fan of GBF. For some reason I can't even get answer to a question. Anyway there a good bunch of guys here.

Thanks guys. See, I knew this was a good idea. I have had more responses in a few hours then 4 months over there. I found this site on a Google search and stumbled on a post the Kurutption134 or something like that. (He has the 83 Malibu v6 3 speed then a stationwagon) I read his thread and the way all the people enter acted was what I was after.

OK enough of the girly gush. Let's talk cars!

Thanks. How does that Monte ride with that big block in it? Seems like it would throw the weight bias off a lot to the front.

I've had other big block powered g bodies in the past and they rode great. My cars are never set up to handle much lol I'm more of a drag race kind of g body nut! Lol my Monte isn't quite finished so I haven't gotten to drive it yet.

Right on. Kind off thinking BBC or an LS conversion. Still a ways off for either though.

Oh I'm not that far yet. I have been looking and have there are a ton of options. I want to wait and see what direction and budget has in store for me. But I am definitely open to suggestions.

Well about another hour I will have my engine and trans ready to pull. Then all the new gaskets and seals, visual inspection. I will also install my new xmember and so on.
