Default motor mount problems

I have a 81 malibu I'm working on. My 305 went out so I'm swapping a 350 in it. When i took out the 305 i noticed one of the motor mounts was different than the other and it was welded on the chassis. I grinded it off and bought new motor mounts. Put them on exactly where they should go. 3 bolts on, one empty hanging off the frame. Now my 350 won't align the clamshells with the mounts. What's going on? Any help would be truly appreciated. Thanks I'll post pics tomorrow.

Make sure you have mounts for a car and not a truck,,mounts for a truck are taller and will not work with car clam shell.

Yes welcome first off. The next thing after ensuring the correct parts, is to make sure the car had not been wrecked at some point. If the car was in a serious enough front end collision, then this is where you are. Frame pulling, bending, squaring it back up- or welding the mount back in. However you feel is the best route for you.

Anchor part number 2292 are the car mounts, or energy 3.1116G/R if this helps.

On my Pontiac 462 I couldn't get one week out of Anchor mount.. I ended up welding the drivers side solid.. Maybe yours will work but mine kept failing...
