Default I'm pleased to be first

I am about to paint my master piece and these are pics of the raw canvass.

This project involves a complete undercarriage rebuild with Spohn parts--coil overs, new bushings, steering etc. It also includes a 9inch Moser Ford Rear with an eaton posi on 3.70 gears and disc brakes at the rear.

Engine is a 454 from a 1978 Caprice which will be transformed with ported heads forged pistons, hedman headers, 750cfm holley and edelbrock intake, comp cam extreme energy mated to a Th400 tranny with a 300 stall converter.

The body will be completely blacked out on 18 inch wheels and tires--haven't chosen yet--with a cowl hood and rear spoiler stand up type.

And other goodies too numerous to mention.

Now all this is taking place on an island in the Caribbean where Japanese sheet metal abounds--and this will be a daily driver. The popular item at the moment here are Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Evolution. I expect to meet them soon.

Will keep the keep forum updated as the build unfolds.

Any suggestions?

MADE SOME PROGRESS---need some advice---installed the moser 9 inch and the spohn rear sway bar but the bar seems rather close to the floor--mechanic put the control arms in the middle hole on the rear support and is going to move it up to the top hole but it seems a little worrisome. The car is sitting on some 14 inch tires we used to just see how it looks dropped down. Can anybody give some insight or suggestion?

Installed qa1 coil overs in the front--no engine in as yet--the big block is being machined. I used 500 springs as su8ggested by spohn for a big block for sport handling. WE dropped the car down after the install with the spring fully opened and the shock also fully opened and the front moves down just a tad when you push on it. Got us wondering if the spring may be too much. We hope when we add the big block weight we will actually be able to see some spring travel. We are going to adjust the coil over up a bit to-day and hopefully we will see some improvement. Any ideas?
